France The Institute for Independent Business is a not-for-profit research, education, and accreditation organisation established in 1984 to give independent businesses access to practical advice and information from specialist advisors. In 1991 the IIB began its Consultancy Business Development Programme (CBDP) - training experienced business people to deliver effective business advisory services to the SME sector.
Since 1991 thousands of individuals have been through the CBDP tuition, graduating as Executive Associates (AInstIB). Associates sub-contract client specialist needs to each other through the IIB Alumni™so that each individual Associate has access to the skills, experience and contacts of thousands of colleagues - undoubtedly the most comprehensive independent business support infrastructure in the world.
As a trained and accredited Associate you have all the advantages of operating your own independent consultancy business, while having the support of the exclusive global IIB Alumni™at your disposal. Informal local groups of Associates provide networking support as well as IIB Regional Groups for additional Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and business-to-business opportunities. The Institute provides an extranet, email and forum to facilitate communication and networking between Associates, the exchange of ideas and the sharing of expertise.
